Huawei is positioning its HarmonyOS-based intelligent assistant, Xiaoyi, as a comprehensive tool for students during the new school semester. The AI assistant offers several features designed to manage campus life and academic workloads.

For daily organization, Xiaoyi can handle incoming calls by converting speech to text, generating call summaries, and creating to-do lists. Academically, the assistant provides deep problem-solving support across various subjects, including interactive explanations for mathematics and assistance with essay brainstorming. It also features an automated error notebook that archives mistakes and generates similar practice problems to reinforce learning.

Additionally, the assistant includes a deep research function that acts as a personal research assistant. It can process research topics, conduct multi-round searches, and integrate authoritative literature to produce professional insight reports or project frameworks in a significantly reduced timeframe.
