Hubble Network secures $200 million Series C for Bluetooth satellite constellation
Seattle-based startup Hubble Network has secured $200 million in Series C financing, bringing its total venture capital raised to $300 million and its private market valuation to $1.6 billion. The funding round was led by Smith Point Capital, with participation from Seraphim, Carthona Capital, Earthshot Ventures, RPM Ventures, and Y Combinator.
The company aims to expand its satellite constellation to provide global, near-constant asset tracking using Bluetooth technology. While currently operating six demonstration cubesats built by Spire Global, Hubble Network plans to deploy up to 60 larger, custom-engineered satellites by 2030. These next-generation spacecraft will feature specialized phased-array antenna systems with ten times the surface area of current models, allowing each satellite to track more than 10 million individual devices.
Hubble Network’s service utilizes firmware updates to allow standard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) transmissions to reach satellites without requiring modified hardware or expensive cellular tracking chips. The company also announced it is moving its space-based asset tracking service from closed-beta testing into general availability.
