Hubert Hurkacz advances in Shanghai Masters after defeating Novak Djokovic

The ATP Shanghai Masters 1000 has seen significant upsets and high-stakes matches. Hubert Hurkacz secured a major victory by defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets (6-4, 6-3), marking his first career win over the Serbian. Hurkacz continued his strong form in Shanghai by also defeating China’s Zhou Yi in a three-set match (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) to advance to the round of 16.

In contrast, Novak Djokovic suffered an early exit following his recent title in Beijing. Other notable results include Alejandro Davidovich Fokina advancing after a grueling three-set battle against Frances Tiafoe, and Alexander Zverev moving forward despite challenges.

The tournament has also seen a difficult run for Argentine players; following several losses, Francisco Cerúndolo remains the sole Argentine representative still competing in the main draw after defeating Jakub Mensik.
