Hubert Hurkacz to play in Cancun Challenger before US Open

Tennis player Hubert Hurkacz will compete in the ATP Challenger 125 tournament in Cancun from August 18 to 23 to regain match rhythm ahead of the US Open. After recent exits in Montreal and Cincinnati, Hurkacz received a last-minute wild card for the Mexican tournament.

Hurkacz enters the competition as the number 3 seed. Having received a bye in the first round, he will begin his campaign in the round of 16 against the winner of the match between Henrique Rocha and Seongchan Hong. This move follows his second-round loss to Tommy Paul in Cincinnati.
