Huberto Cabral, prominent journalist and memorialist, dies at 89

Journalist, memorialist, and intellectual Huberto Cabral has passed away at the age of 89. He died on Monday night following a 26-day hospitalization at the Hospital Regional do Cariri in Juazeiro do Norte, where he was being treated for a pulmonary infection.

A prominent figure in the Cariri region, Cabral was recognized for his contributions to local journalism and the preservation of regional memory. His wake was held at the Sé Catedral in Crato, attended by family, friends, and colleagues, with a funeral mass and subsequent burial at the Nossa Senhora da Piedade Cemetery.
