Hublot and Jeff Koons unveil new limited-edition watch collaboration
Swiss watchmaker Hublot and American contemporary artist Jeff Koons have announced a multi-faceted collaboration featuring two distinct limited-edition timepieces: the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog and the MP-14 Origin.
The Classic Fusion Balloon Dog collection is inspired by Koons’s iconic inflatable sculptures. The watches feature a re-engineered, voluminous architecture with domed sapphire crystals, a puffy case, and a crown designed to resemble a balloon knot. The collection includes three versions: mirror-polished stainless steel, and red or blue anodized aluminum, each limited to 200 pieces. They are powered by the HUB1710 automatic movement.
The MP-14 Origin, part of Hublot’s Exceptional Timepieces collection, is a more technical release limited to 30 pieces. It utilizes sapphire, titanium, and gem-set white gold to represent the creation of the cosmos. This model marks a technical milestone for the brand as its first automatic central tourbillon. The name MP-14 references the street number of the New Museum in New York where Koons held his first solo exhibition in 1980.
Hublot CEO Julien Tornare described the partnership as an extraordinary exercise in engineering and craftsmanship, aiming to fuse high-end horology with contemporary art.
