Hudbay proposes expansion of Constancia mine in Cusco

Hudbay has initiated a formal process with the National Service of Environmental Certification for Sustainable Investments (Senace) to modify its Citizen Participation Plan for the Constancia mine in Cusco. This step precedes a proposed Fourth Modification of the Detailed Environmental Impact Study (MEIA-d).

The expansion project includes enlarging the Constancia pit, updating the mining plan, and relocating associated powder magazines to increase production capacity. Additionally, the company proposes to expand the existing tailings dam infrastructure to an elevation of 4,200.2 meters above sea level to support the increased operations.
