Hudson Valley dog rescue saves 20 animals from hoarding situation
Take Me Home Pet Rescue led an effort to rescue 20 dogs from a hoarding situation at a single-family home in the Hudson Valley. The animals were found living in poor conditions characterized by strong odors of urine and damaged furniture. Many of the dogs had never been leashed, crated, or taken outside.
The rescue included two accidental litters: six puppies approximately seven months old and 12 puppies aged five weeks. Tragically, one puppy from the younger litter died.
Due to limited resources, Take Me Home Pet Rescue collaborated with several local organizations to rehome the animals. Hudson Paws Dog Rescue and the Dutchess County SPCA each took in three dogs, while The Incredible Pups Pet Rescue took five of the younger dogs. Happy Life Animal Rescue also assisted in the rehoming process.
