Hue faces intense heatwaves and rising forest fire risks

Hue is experiencing intense heatwaves and increased fire risks. Temperatures in the city have reached up to 37°C to 38°C, accompanied by low humidity and strong Southwest winds. Meteorological forecasts indicate that high temperatures will persist through September 4, with a potential decrease starting September 5.

The extreme weather has triggered multiple forest and brush fires. In An Cuu Ward, a large fire broke out in a protected pine forest, requiring over 150 personnel to extinguish. Local authorities reported 20 fire incidents across the city on a single day, including fires near cemeteries, residential areas, and forest edges.

Authorities have issued warnings regarding health risks, particularly for the elderly and outdoor workers, and are maintaining checkpoints to prevent further outbreaks. Residents are advised to remain vigilant against accompanying weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, lightning, and sudden gusts.
