Hue regulates A Luoi and A Lin B1 hydropower plants due to weather risks

The Hue City Civil Defense Command has announced the regulation of the A Luoi hydropower plant and the A Lin B1 hydropower reservoir to ensure safety for downstream areas. This measure comes in response to weather forecasts predicting complex conditions in Central Vietnam, including the potential formation of a tropical depression or storm in the East Sea.

Starting from 1:00 PM on September 12, the A Luoi hydropower plant will increase its spillway discharge, with flow rates expected to gradually rise up to 600 m3/s. Simultaneously, the A Lin B1 reservoir will also increase its discharge through the spillway, with expected flow rates reaching up to 300 m3/s.

Authorities have instructed hydropower companies to notify residents in the A Luoi 1, A Luoi 2, and A Luoi 3 communes to prepare for potential flooding within the reservoir areas. Local departments and government agencies have been urged to closely monitor meteorological warnings regarding heavy rain, flash floods, landslides, and local inundation expected between September 10 and September 17.
