Huelva approves research and employment training agreements

The Huelva City Council has approved two collaboration agreements with the University of Huelva and the Valdocco Foundation to strengthen applied research and employment training programs through 2026.

One agreement focuses on developing an Industrial Doctorate centered on climate change adaptation. This project involves hiring a professional to research urban climate infrastructure using Nature-based Solutions, such as green corridors and climate shelters. The city's parks and green zones will serve as ‘Living Labs’ to collect data on biodiversity, water infiltration, and temperature reduction to improve urban resilience.

The second agreement ensures the continued operation of the Valdocco Training Center. This partnership will maintain vocational training and employment programs, providing resources for facility management, teaching support, and student guidance, specifically targeting new labor opportunities arising from Huelva’s industrial transformation.
