Huelva begins 2.3 million euro road renovation in El Matadero

The Huelva City Council has launched the renovation of seven streets in the El Matadero neighborhood as part of its 2026 Municipal Asphalt Plan. The works, scheduled between August 10 and 14, affect streets including Arias Montano, Antón Alaminos, Paco Cerrejón, Arquitecto Pinto, Francisco Pizarro, and a section of Avenida Escultora Miss Whitney.

The broader municipal plan involves a total investment of 2.3 million euros to improve approximately 50 roads across the city. To expedite the process, the project is divided into three distinct lots: the first lot focuses on the La Orden neighborhood, the second on the Centro and Adoratrices areas, and the third covers El Matadero, El Rocío, and Balbueno.

Huelva Mayor Pilar Miranda stated that the goal is to move away from sporadic repairs toward a continuous annual planning model that progressively improves all neighborhoods through both large-scale works and ongoing maintenance.
