Huelva City Council Boosts Support for Semana Santa Traditions

The Huelva City Council and the Council of Brotherhoods and Cofradías of Huelva signed a new cooperation agreement to strengthen municipal backing for the city’s Semana Santa celebrations. Mayor Pilar Miranda highlighted the year‑round work of the brotherhoods, noting their role in preserving heritage, maintaining traditions, and providing social assistance to vulnerable families. Council president Antonio González thanked the municipality and stressed that Semana Santa is “much more than a few days on the streets.”

The pact expands municipal involvement in organizational, logistical and institutional support for Holy Week events and extends collaboration to other activities promoted by the brotherhoods throughout the year.
