Huelva hosts archaeological and paleontological heritage events
The province of Huelva, Spain, is hosting significant cultural and scientific events focused on history and heritage. The XXVIII Jornadas de Arqueología y Territorio de Aljaraque will take place from October 20 to 22. Organized by the Asociación Cultural Kalathoussa and the Aljaraque City Council, this edition moves its conferences to the Biblioteca del Casino Minero de Corrales to explore local archaeology and territory.
Additionally, the tenth edition of the Spanish Congress of Tourist Caves and Mines (CUEVATUR) will be held in Aracena from November 11 to 14. The event will feature renowned paleontologist Juan Luis Arsuaga, who will discuss the role of caves in preserving human evolution and natural history. Under the theme ‘Cuevas y Mundo Subterráneo: Ciencia, Turismo y Futuro’, the congress aims to promote sustainable subterranean tourism as an alternative to mass tourism, balancing conservation with scientific knowledge.
