Huelva hosts initiative to combat migration stereotypes

The Huelva City Council, through its Local Council for Migrant Persons, organized the ‘Tu prejuicio, su frontera’ (Your prejudice, their border) event to address misconceptions and discriminatory discourse regarding migrants. The initiative brought together social entities, professionals, and students to promote coexistence based on empathy and mutual respect.

A key focus of the event was the ‘Stop Rumores’ initiative, which aims to identify and dismantle false information and rumors, particularly those spread via social media that fuel xenophobia. Participants discussed the importance of recognizing inaccurate information that hinders social integration and contributes to hate speech.
