Huelva hosts third edition of ‘Un Condado de Cuentos’ storytelling festival
The third edition of the itinerant oral storytelling festival, ‘Un Condado de Cuentos’, will take place during the second and third weekends of September in the Huelva region of Spain. The event will feature the municipalities of Rociana del Condado, Beas, Hinojos, and Escacena del Campo.
Promoted by the Diputación de Huelva, the festival aims to recover local memories, legends, and anecdotes passed down through generations. Unlike traditional stage performances, this initiative involves walking through towns, using streets, plazas, and paths as stages to connect stories directly to their specific locations.
To prepare for the event, narrators visit the towns to interview residents and collect personal histories and everyday memories. These accounts are then transformed into unique stories performed exclusively during the festival. The lineup includes narrators Antonio López, Aurora Maroto, Carmen Sara Floriano, and Diego Magdaleno, accompanied by the musician Don Jozelito. All activities are free and open to the public.
