Huelva hosts Ukrainian minors for summer humanitarian program

Three Ukrainian minors from the Odesa region are spending the summer in Huelva, Spain, as part of a humanitarian foster program. The initiative, now in its fourth edition, is organized by the Association of Foster Children in Huelva (Asnia) and funded by an 8,000-euro grant from the Huelva Provincial Council.

The program aims to provide a safe environment for children to recover physically and emotionally from the impact of the war. While four children were initially expected, only three arrived after one child was unable to travel due to the death of their mother on the front lines.

The children are staying with host families in Huelva capital and Bonal then participating in cultural, sporting, and leisure activities, including visits to local beaches, falconry, and trips through the Huelva estuary. One of the minors will remain in Huelva indefinitely to begin their studies with their host family, while the others are scheduled to return after the summer.
