Huelva launches intensive cleaning of public schools for new term
The Huelva City Council has launched an extraordinary cleaning operation to prepare 26 public infant and primary schools for the upcoming academic year. Running from August 25 to September 9, the initiative involves a temporary reinforcement of 35 workers added to the standard staff of 115.
The deep cleaning covers classrooms, bathrooms, offices, gyms, and common areas, with specific attention to windows, furniture, and walls. Exterior maintenance includes cleaning patios, sports tracks, and porches, as well as removing weeds and debris. For the first time, the operation also extends to municipal sites used for 'Cultura en los Barrios' workshops.
This intensive cleaning follows summer maintenance work involving repairs, painting, and waterproofing. The measures are supplemented by environmental health actions, including disinfection, pest control, and legionella prevention.
