Huelva Plaza Mayor construction enters structural phase

Construction of the future Plaza Mayor in Huelva, located on the site of the former Mercado del Carmen, has entered a structural execution phase. Current works focus on deep foundation and perimeter containment walls to stabilize the ground before the interior excavation of the underground parking facility begins.

Technical teams are working simultaneously on several fronts, including the eastern facade's containment walls, western guide walls, and the relocation of utility networks. Following the completion of the perimeter stabilization, the project will move toward installing crowning beams and structural bracing, which will allow for the phased excavation of the parking area.

Due to the project's location in the historic city center, authorities are maintaining strict oversight of neighboring buildings, archaeological monitoring, and the diversion of electrical and telecommunications services.

In a separate local initiative, the Huelva City Council and Telpark have launched a parking discount campaign at the Mercado del Carmen and Pablo Rada lots. Running from September 7 to 29, the program offers special rates via Multipass packages to support local commerce and hospitality as seasonal activity resumes.
