Huelva renames five roundabouts to honor Virgen de la Cinta tradition

The Huelva City Council has officially named five roundabouts near the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cinta after historical figures linked to the local devotion. The figures honored are Juan Antonio el Zapatero, Francisco de Leiva, Francisco Martín Olivares, Francisco Pinto, and Francisco Pedro el Pastor.

Mayor Pilar Miranda presided over the ceremony held on the eve of September 8, the feast day of Huelva’s patron saint. Miranda stated that the initiative aims to make the city’s history and traditions more visible in public spaces, describing the act as more than just signage, but as a way to “put a name to our memory.”
