Huelva reviews outdoor terrace regulations
The Huelva Monitoring Commission for the Terrace Ordinance has met to evaluate the implementation of new regulations governing outdoor dining areas. The meeting included representatives from the City Council, Local Police, the hospitality sector, and neighborhood associations to address issues regarding closing times, noise control, and pedestrian accessibility.
Under the current rules, terraces without musical or audiovisual elements may operate until 1:00 a.m. between June and September, with a general midnight limit during the rest of the year. To ensure accessibility, the ordinance mandates a minimum of 1.80 meters of unobstructed width for pedestrian transit, while also protecting access to garages, public transport stops, bike lanes, and emergency vehicle routes.
Mayor Pilar Miranda emphasized the necessity of maintaining dialogue between business owners and residents to balance economic activity with the right to rest and unobstructed public space.
