Huelva to host international congress honoring Juan Ramón Jiménez and Zenobia Camprubí

The province of Huelva, Spain, will host an international congress titled ‘Zenobia Camprubí, Juan Ramón Jiménez y el 27. Magisterio y vivencia’ from October 26 to 28. The event takes place in Moguer and Huelva to commemorate several significant anniversaries.

The congress marks 70 years since Juan Ramón Jiménez was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature on October 25, 1956. It also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the death of his wife, Zenobia Camprubí, on October 28. Additionally, the upcoming 145th anniversary of the poet's birth will be observed on December 23.

Experts will analyze the couple's profound influence on the Generation of '27 and their roles in cultural dynamics. Special attention will be given to Zenobia Camprubí’s legacy as a feminist activist, founder of the Lyceum Club Femenino, and a translator who bridged Spanish and North American literatures.
