Huelva’s Hermandad de Emigrantes Launches New Rocío Cycle
The Real Hermandad de Emigrantes of Nuestra Señora del Rocío in Huelva held its traditional Thanksgiving Mass after the Pentecost pilgrimage, using the occasion to formally close the current Rocío course.
President José Francisco Garrido Cruzado is completing a four‑year term, and elections for a new board will be held later this year. During the offertory the customary "hermano mayor" ceremony took place: Jesús María Muñoz Muñoz, celebrating his birthday, handed the staff and medal to María Ángeles Cordero of the choir, who had awaited the role.
The Mass concluded with the blessing of a newly donated Guion de la Inmaculada – a heritage piece featuring a painting by Antonio Cazorla, embroidery from Talleres Salteras, metalwork by Emilio Méndez, designed by José María Carrasco Salas and presented by donor Belén Requena Laviña.
After the liturgy, members gathered at the Casino Minero de Corrales for the traditional Gazpacho Rociero in honor of the outgoing hermano mayor, followed by a performance by the group Jarampa.
