Huemedics secures GMP certification to launch bio‑pharma CMO production

South Korean contract‑manufacturing organization Huemedics announced that it has received final GMP approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its recombinant bio‑pharmaceutical final‑product manufacturing line. The certification covers a 100‑liter production facility that will be used to produce the human‑derived hyaluronidase drug being developed by its affiliate Huons Lab, with commercial production planned after the product receives marketing authorization in the second half of the year. CEO Kang Min‑jong said the approval confirms the company’s injection‑manufacturing technology and quality‑control capabilities in the bio‑pharma sector. The new GMP‑certified line expands Huemedics’ portfolio beyond chemical drugs and aesthetic products, completing an end‑to‑end value chain for the Huons Group and positioning it for growth in the high‑value bio‑CMO market.
