Hue's Binh Thanh Bridge Replacement Project Shortens Build Time

The new Binh Thanh Bridge spanning the upper Huong River in Hue City has been accelerated, with construction beginning in March and now at roughly 50% of the work completed. The project, costing over 75 billion VND, will replace the deteriorated suspension bridge that had served the region for 25 years and was linked to a fatal accident in November 2024.

The bridge will be about 500 m long, with a main span of more than 254 m, 8.5 m wide and composed of six Super‑T spans. It will connect to National Highway 49 and include upgraded approach roads, drainage, and safety lanes. The anticipated completion date is the end of 2026, a timeline notably shorter than the originally planned three‑year schedule, achieved by concentrating labor and equipment before the central Vietnam rainy season.
