Hugh Curran, former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker, dies at 82

Former Scottish footballer Hugh Curran has passed away at the age of 82. A prominent forward during his career, Curran is remembered for his significant contributions to several English Football League clubs.

Curran played for Millwall, where he was the leading scorer during their 1965 promotion from the fourth tier, and Norwich City, where he was voted player of the year in 1968. He joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1969 for a fee of £60,000, becoming the club's leading goalscorer in his first full season in the First Division with 23 goals.

On the international stage, Curran earned five caps for the Scotland national team between 1969 and 1971, scoring a goal against England at Wembley in May 1971.
