Newly unsealed court documents reveal that Playboy founder Hugh Hefner repeatedly contacted the FBI in 2005 to report allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking involving Jeffrey Epstein. The reports were made on behalf of Audra Lynn Christiansen, a former Playboy Playmate who was living at Hefner’s Beverly Hills mansion at the time.

Christiansen alleged that Epstein had raped her and subsequently trafficked her to wealthy associates, including Macau casino billionaire Stanley Ho. She reportedly sought Hefner’s help because she believed his celebrity status and connections would ensure her claims were taken seriously by law enforcement.

Despite these reports, the FBI did not contact Christiansen until October 2020, approximately 15 years after the initial warnings and more than a year after Epstein’s death. The revelations are part of an amended lawsuit filed by 32 Epstein victims against the United States, accusing the FBI of negligence and failing to act on reports of sexual abuse dating back to 1996. The FBI has sought to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing it is not required to investigate every complaint received.
