Hugh Jackman discusses passing on James Bond and new Wolverine casting

Hugh Jackman has revealed that he turned down the role of James Bond in the early 2000s to maintain creative control over his career and focus on the X-Men franchise. During an interview, Jackman explained that he felt the Bond scripts at the time were becoming too unrealistic and had suggested a grittier direction. When he was informed he would have no creative input, he declined the offer. He noted that the casting process felt similar to the Secret Service, where rejection is a factor in the selection of candidates.

In related news regarding the Wolverine character, actor Liam McIntyre has been revealed as the performer providing the voice, likeness, and motion capture for Wolverine in the upcoming Insomniac Games title, ‘Marvel's Wolverine’. While Jackman has portrayed the character for 26 years, the new video game marks a different iteration of the role. The game is scheduled for release on September 15.
