Hugh Jackman discusses self-doubt and career anecdotes

Actor Hugh Jackman has spoken candidly about his experiences with self-doubt and personal fears. In a recent interview, the Australian star noted that feelings of inadequacy often persist even when external success appears high, stating, “Doubts do not disappear with success — one only learns to listen to them differently.” He reflected on being a fearful child who was afraid of the dark and heights, noting that he has had to confront these fears throughout his life.

Jackman’s comments coincide with the release of the film “Song Sung Blue,” where he stars alongside Kate Hudson. The film features Jackman performing as part of a tribute duo inspired by Neil Diamond.

Additionally, Jackman shared an anecdote regarding the early days of his career as Wolverine. He admitted to being unaware that the character was named after the wolverine animal, mistakenly believing it was a mythical creature. This misunderstanding led him to study wolf behavior for his performance on the X-Men set, an error he now views with humor.
