Hugh Jackman in talks to buy stake in Norwich City
Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman has confirmed he is in talks to acquire a minority stake in English football club Norwich City. In an interview with TalkSport, Jackman expressed strong interest in the potential investment, stating, “I’m very, very interested – and talking about it right now.”
Jackman, a lifelong supporter of the Canaries, cited a personal connection to the club through his mother, who was born in Norwich. He noted that he had previously been offered an investment opportunity in 2010 but declined at the time.
If the deal proceeds, Jackman would join a growing trend of celebrity owners in English football, potentially setting up a competitive dynamic with his friend and Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns Wrexham AFC. Both Norwich City and Wrexham are currently competing in the EFL Championship and are viewed as contenders for promotion to the Premier League.
Norwich City is currently majority-owned by American businessman Mark Attanasio, who holds an 85 percent stake in the club.
