Hugh Jackman stars in dark reimagining of Robin Hood

The upcoming film ‘The Death of Robin Hood’ (Italian title: ‘Robin Hood - Il prezzo del sangue’), directed by Michael Sarnoski, offers a dark and melancholic reimagining of the legendary outlaw. Starring Hugh Jackman, the film portrays an aging, disheveled, and solitary Robin Hood who is haunted by his past crimes. Jackman’s performance is described as a deconstruction of the myth, depicting a fragile and demoralized man trapped by the legend he created.

The narrative follows Robin as he comes out of isolation to assist his friend Little John, played by Bill Skarsgård. Jodie Comer also stars as Sister Brigid, a character who serves as a decisive guide for Robin while navigating her own struggles. The film is scheduled for release in Italy on August 13, 2026.
