Hugh Jackman to star in new Robin Hood film and Ridley Scott's Treasure Island adaptation
Hugh Jackman will headline two upcoming high‑profile film projects. In Michael Sarnoski’s dark re‑interpretation of the legend, titled *Robin Hood – Il prezzo del sangue*, Jackman plays a hardened Robin Hood confronting the cost of his violent past. The film, produced by A24 and released in Italian cinemas on 13 August through I Wonder Pictures, also features Jodie Comer as Sister Brigid and Bill Skarsgård as Little John.
Separately, director Ridley Scott has cast Jackman as the iconic pirate Long John Silver in a new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel *Treasure Island*. The screenplay is written by Emmy‑winner Jack Thorne and the film will be produced by Scott Free with Michael Pruss. No release date has been announced, but the project is positioned as a major upcoming adventure film.
Both announcements underscore Jackman’s return to classic literary roles, with the Robin Hood movie offering a gritty, character‑driven take and the Treasure Island adaptation promising a fresh look at the legendary pirate story.
