Laurie will portray Hiller B. Zobel, the Massachusetts Superior Court judge who presided over the trial of Louise Woodward. Woodward, an 18-year-old British au pair, was accused of causing the death of eight-month-old Matthew Eappen through violent shaking while in her care in the United States.

The series features a cast including Meghann Fahy, Catriona Chandler, Joanne Froggatt, Sagar Radia, and Chloë Sevigny. Matthew Barry serves as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer, while Susanne Bier is set to direct all episodes.
