Hugo Besson signs with ASVEL amid international basketball moves

Several professional basketball players have finalized international signings. Hugo Besson, a 25-year-old guard and former 2022 NBA draft pick, has signed with the French club ASVEL. Besson, who previously played in Turkey for Manisa BBSK and Tofaş, returns to the French elite after stints in New Zealand and the NBA G League.

In Italy, former NBA player Vernon Carey Jr. has signed with Maxima Roma. The club is entering its first season in Italy’s top domestic league and the EuroCup following the acquisition of Pallacanestro Brescia’s sporting license.

Additionally, Turkish club Trabzonspor has announced the signing of American guard Isaiah Canaan. Canaan, a veteran with six NBA seasons and significant EuroLeague experience, joins the team following a period sidelined by a knee injury.
