Hugo Bolin shines in Gladbach's DFB-Pokal victory

Hugo Bolin delivered a standout performance for Borussia Mönchengladbach during their 5-0 victory against TSV Schott Mainz in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The 23-year-old Swedish attacker scored two goals and provided one assist, signaling a potential breakthrough for the upcoming Bundesliga season.

Coach Eugen Polanski and Sporting Director Rouven Schröder both praised Bolin’s performance. Schröder highlighted the player’s agility, work rate, and ability to find solutions in tight spaces. While Polanski noted room for improvement regarding aggression in finishing, he expressed confidence in Bolin’s potential. Having moved to the club last winter, Bolin is now under contract until 2030 and is expected to play a more significant role as the team prepares for their Bundesliga opener against RB Leipzig.
