Hugo Brockes, prominent advertiser and writer, dies at 89

Hugo Brockes, a prominent advertiser, writer, and actor from Goiás, has died at the age of 89. He passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Goiânia following a sudden cardiac arrest at his home.

Brockes had a multifaceted career deeply rooted in the culture of Goiás. In the advertising sector, he was a partner at Om&b Propaganda and served as the president of the State Syndicate of Advertising Agencies of Goiás (Sinapro-GO). He was also involved with the National Federation of Advertising Agencies (Fenapro).

Beyond advertising, Brockes was a significant figure in literature, theater, and cinema. In his later years, he focused primarily on writing. Governor Daniel Vilela issued a note of condolence, stating that Goiás has lost a professional who left a lasting mark on the state's communication history.
