Hugo Bronstein reaches 100,000 kilometer cycling milestone

Hugo Bronstein, a 60-year-old from Deurne, has reached a significant cycling milestone by accumulating 100,000 kilometers on his bicycle over the past six years. This distance is equivalent to circling the Earth two and a half times.

Since purchasing his touring bicycle in July 2020, Bronstein has averaged approximately 16,000 kilometers per year, or 45 kilometers per day. His travels have taken him to various locations, including Bremen in Germany, Arras in France, and Scherpenheuvel in Belgium. He uses his bicycle for daily commutes to his workplace at Senzer, a social workshop in Helmond, as well as for visiting friends.

Bronstein prefers a traditional bicycle over an electric one, noting that electric bikes move too fast for his preference. He maintains his pace by cycling at roughly 15 kilometers per hour and taking breaks at local terraces during his long-distance trips.
