Hugo Calderano and Bruna Takahashi compete in Smash Europe

Brazilian table tennis players Hugo Calderano and Bruna Takahashi are competing in the Smash Europe tournament in Malmö, Sweden, held from August 8 to 16. Calderano, ranked eighth in the world, enters as the seventh seed and is scheduled to debut in the singles bracket against local player William Bergenblock.

Bruna Takahashi faces a significant challenge in her singles debut against Germany's Sabine Winter, the tournament's seventh seed. The duo will also compete together in the mixed doubles category as the second seeds, receiving a bye to the second round.

Other Brazilian participants include Guilherme Teodoro and Leonardo Iizuka in the men's doubles. Teodoro is also scheduled to compete in mixed doubles alongside Chile's Paulina Vega.
