Hugo Calderano reaches WTT Champions Macau quarterfinals

Brazilian table tennis player Hugo Calderano has advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTT Champions Macau in China. Currently ranked seventh in the world, Calderano secured a 3-1 comeback victory against Croatia's Tomislav Pucar.

After losing the first set 6-11, Calderano adjusted his strategy to win the subsequent three sets with scores of 11-7, 11-6, and 11-3. This victory follows his opening round win against Australia's Nicholas Lum.

Calderano is scheduled to play in the quarterfinals on Saturday, facing the winner of the match between Japan's Sora Matsushima and Hong Kong's Wong Chun Ting. The tournament features several top-ranked players, though world number one Wang Chuqin and French player Félix Lebrun are not participating in this edition.
