Hugo Camberos attracts interest from Ajax and Feyenoord

Hugo Camberos, the 19-year-old Chivas forward, has drawn interest from Dutch Eredivisie clubs Ajax and Feyenoord following his standout performance in the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship. Camberos helped lead the Mexican U-20 national team to the title, earning both the Golden Boot with five goals and the tournament's Most Valuable Player award.

Despite his international success, Camberos faces challenges regarding playing time at the club level. Under Chivas manager Gabriel Milito, the winger has struggled to secure a consistent role in the first team. Analysts suggest his natural style as an open attacker may clash with Milito’s tactical system, which prioritizes wing-backs and interior players over traditional wingers.

Camberos is currently under contract with Chivas until 2028, with an estimated market value of 3 million euros. His recent performances have also secured him a spot in the upcoming 2027 U-20 World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
