Hugo “Pipo” Rossi, former San Luis official, dies at 64

Hugo “Pipo” Rossi, a prominent political figure and former Secretary of Housing Policy for San Luis, Argentina, has passed away at the age of 64. His death was confirmed by Governor Claudio Poggi, who praised Rossi as a “first-class political leader” and a “great person” who fought a brave battle against illness.

Rossi had a long career within the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR), having been a member since 1982. His political roles included serving as a councilman for Villa Mercedes, a provincial deputy, and president of the UCR in San Luis. Most recently, he worked within the provincial government on housing policy and land regularization.

Following a surgical procedure in Córdoba on June 9, Rossi had been managing health issues that led him to step down from his formal secretariat role earlier this year. He remained connected to the housing department through the Pedernera office until his passing.
