Hugo Porta leads community sports initiative in Sierra Grande

Hugo Porta, president of the Laureus Foundation Argentina, visited Sierra Grande as part of a community sports initiative led by the YPF Foundation and Laureus. The program aims to use sports as a tool for social development and community growth rather than focusing solely on high-performance athlete detection.

During the visit on September 15 and 16, training sessions were held for coaches, teachers, and local leaders in Sierra Grande and San Antonio Oeste. These sessions focused on social inclusion, healthy habits, and teamwork. Technical workshops also provided organizations with management tools, including guidance on administration and seeking sponsorships.

Porta met with local representatives and the Los Jabalíes Rugby Club to discuss sustaining long-term community links. The initiative is set to continue in October with technical sessions regarding the Río Negro Province Sponsorship Law to assist local sports entities with financing and management.
