Hugo Silva stars in new RTVE series ‘Rojo sobre blanco’

Actor Hugo Silva returns to the police procedural genre in ‘Rojo sobre blanco’, a new eight-part drama series from Spanish broadcaster RTVE. Produced by Good Mood (Mediawan), the series was filmed in Madrid and Tenerife and features 70-minute episodes.

Silva stars alongside María Hervás, playing a police officer returning to Madrid following a marital breakdown. He works alongside Hervás’s character, a forensic linguist with high intellectual capacity who is also dealing with personal trauma. The production aims to provide visibility to neurodivergence and high intellectual capacity.

The series launch coincides with RTVE’s renewed commitment to domestic prime-time fiction following previous criticisms regarding a scarcity of homegrown productions. The broadcaster currently maintains a strong position in audience ratings.
