Giorgian de Arrascaeta requires surgery for wrist fracture FAST-MOVING
Flamengo midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta has suffered a left wrist fracture that requires surgery. The injury occurred during a friendly match between Uruguay and South Korea in Seoul, where the player slipped and fell on his arm.
Arrascaeta is expected to return to Brazil for medical re-evaluation and the surgical procedure. Estimates suggest he could be sidelined for approximately six weeks, which would cause him to miss Flamengo's Copa Libertadores semifinal matches against Estudiantes de La Plata scheduled for October 15 and 22.
This marks the second significant injury for the Uruguayan midfielder in 2026, following a clavicle fracture earlier in the year. His absence poses a challenge for Flamengo as they compete in both the Brasileirão and the Libertadores.
