Hugo Souza faces scrutiny following Brazil's draw with Australia

Brazilian goalkeeper Hugo Souza is facing scrutiny following a draw between the Brazilian national team and Australia. Critics and fans have targeted the Corinthians goalkeeper after a mistake during a cross led to a goal.

Former player Lugano has defended Souza, arguing that a goalkeeper should not be judged based on a single error or a single match. He suggested that coaches should provide more opportunities to evaluate a player's true quality. Similarly, former midfielder Silas noted a lack of patience in Brazilian football regarding the player's recent performance.

Debates have also emerged regarding Souza's standing in the national team compared to Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. While some analysts believe Alisson's cycle with the national team is ending, others highlight the different characteristics between the two, noting Souza's ability to perform in high-pressure moments and penalty shootouts despite occasional technical inconsistencies.
