Hugo Valenti to join Journey for 2026 Japan shows

Hugo Valenti, a longtime Steve Perry impersonator, is set to join the band Journey for two shows in Japan during their 2026 Final Frontier Tour. Valenti, a Long Island native, has modeled his vocal approach, stage manner, and outfits after the classic-era Journey frontman.

Valenti’s path to performing with the band follows decades of musical pursuit, including a record deal in the late 1980s with the band Valentine and later work with Open Skyz. While Journey member Neal Schon reportedly stood in his way in the late 1990s, bandmate Jonathan Cain has since facilitated this opportunity for Valenti to perform with the group.
