Hugues Aufray discusses marriage to partner 45 years his junior

French singer Hugues Aufray, 97, has spoken openly about his marriage to Murielle Megevand, who is 45 years his junior. The couple married in September 2023 following the death of Aufray’s long-time wife, Hélène Faure, in 2022.

Aufray and Megevand met in 2005 on a train between Paris and Geneva. For over 15 years, Aufray maintained a double life while remaining married to Faure. He has expressed that his relationship with Megevand is a central motivation in his professional life, stating that he works “with her, thanks to her and for her” to provide for her.

Fellow artist Dave has defended the relationship, noting that he knows Megevand and believes “she is not there for the money, she loves him!” Aufray has also addressed the age gap and his vitality, previously remarking that he does not require medication like Viagra to maintain his lifestyle.
