Hugues Aufray postpones Bressuire concert due to illness
Singer Hugues Aufray has been forced to postpone his concert scheduled for Friday, October 23, at the Complexe Bocapole in Bressuire. The 97-year-old artist is suffering from acute laryngitis which has resulted in aphonia.
His production company, Backstage Event, confirmed the postponement on Instagram, noting that the singer hopes to return to the Bressuire stage on January 8. Fans who purchased tickets for the original date can use them for the rescheduled performance.
Aufray, who recently celebrated his 97th birthday, was recently awarded the National Order of Merit by President Emmanuel Macron. He is noted as being among the oldest singers still performing on stage.
