Huimilpan advances water infrastructure through new well drilling and equipment upgrades

Infrastructure projects are underway to improve water supply in the Huimilpan region. In the community of Los Cues, Mayor Jairo Morales Martínez has initiated the drilling of the ‘Los Cues – Bimbalete’ well. The project involves drilling to a projected depth of 500 meters to provide approximately 10 liters of water per second. Once completed, the well will interconnect with the Cues 2 and El Bimbalete tanks to expand storage and distribution capacity.

Simultaneously, technical inspections are being conducted at the Las Cuevas well to prepare for its equipment phase. Genaro Solís, executive director of the Municipal Water and Sanitation Board (JMAS), reported that the Central Water and Sanitation Board inspected the existing infrastructure. The assessment identified a need to replace a transformer due to an oil leak, as well as the installation of new switches, pumps, and wiring to make the well operational.
