Huisman Secures Contract to Equip Solstad‑SBM Offshore Installation Vessel

Dutch lifting equipment specialist Huisman has been awarded a contract by CIMC Raffles Offshore to supply an integrated package of lifting and handling systems for a next‑generation deepwater offshore installation vessel being built for the joint venture of Solstad Offshore and SBM Offshore. The equipment includes a 350‑tonne A‑frame with Active Heave Compensation, a 500‑tonne knuckle‑boom crane, a 20‑tonne auxiliary crane and a 2,500‑tonne basket for storing flexibles, fibre ropes and mooring chains, enabling a broad range of offshore construction and installation activities.

CEO David Roodenburg said the award marks Huisman's first project for the Solstad‑SBM joint venture and strengthens the company's position in the Norwegian offshore market while extending its cooperation with CIMC Raffles Offshore.
